JAY CASEY from YORK



Opening heat 5, is one of our youngest contestants, Jay Casey and is just 11years old! From the local area, Jay loves to sing and entertain. He loves pop music and will be singing a couple of songs from his favourite artists, Adele and Justin Bieber. When Jay is not entertaining and studying, he loves to play football and is really good at kick boxing too! A confident and vibrant lad, we are sure Jay will go far! Please show Jay your support!

ALFIE WHATTAM from YORK



We are very pleased to introduce Alfie Whattam, Yorks very own Derren Brown! At only 16years, Alfie has already performed at numerous events, including weddings and other celebrations for major celebrities! Alfie is no stranger to talent contests having performed in front of Simon Cowell, Ant & Dec and David Walliams in 2012's Britain's Got Talent show. Alfie was short listed as a finalist, which has assisted Alfie's career in securing numerous gigs. Alfie has featured on ITV, BBC and SKY and performed in 3 films. All this and Alfie is also studying at college!

BETHANY-HANNAH WINTERINGHAM from YORK



Contestant Bethany-Hannah is only 15years old and has an absolutely beautiful voice. She has been performing song and dance on stage from the age of 5 years appearing in numerous productions for Victoria Rooke's school of dance and drama. This year Bethany-Hannah will be singing and dancing in this years production 'Snow White' and 'Songs from the Shows'. Not a stranger to contests, Bethany-Hannah made the finals of York Community Idol in 2011 and she won the winners trophy in her school arts awards for the last 2years. Bethany-Hannah has also performed in many school concerts and fund raising events for her school. Her proud Dad Steve says, "She really loves singing whether it be in public, in the shower or even while doing her homework and it's lovely for us as a family to hear her everyday. She is a very modest, shy and kind, considerate girl and also very bright. She is doing really well in her GCSE's and will be going to Joseph Rowntree School to do her sixth form A Level's in Drama, Modern History, English Literature and Psychology in September." Bethany-Hannah's career ambitions include working in Musical Theatre, Recording Artist, Psychologist and Beauty Therapist. She would love to be a recording artist more than anything but she is keeping her feet on the ground! Well we are sure you will go far Bethany-Hannah and are glad to have you in the contest.

BOB WORSEY from YORK



Another local talented lad Bob, is just 18years old and is studying Film and TV AT York St John University. Bob has been playing the guitar for as long as he can remember, but has recently in the past few months also started singing. Bob enjoys performing covers and his own songs. Passionate about music and showcasing various talented musicians, Bob has set up an acoustic night at his local pub. Unfortunately very few people are brave enough to perform, so Bob usually ends up playing for the eager audience. Bob is really excited to perform in the Ainsty's Got Talent Contest, but is also a wee bit nervous. So everyone please show Bob your support!

B-FLY from STARBRITE DANCENTRE



We are very pleased to present B-Fly, an all girl street dance crew. This exciting and invigorating group will surely blow everyone away with their performance. The girls practise regularly and are really looking forward to showcasing their talents in the Ainsty's Got Talent Contest on the 24th May. Their routine was choreographed by Miss Laura, Starbrite's Street Dance teacher and Miss Emma Bailey-Hague. The track is 'Schoolin' life' by Beyoncé, which is apt for the girls as it is all about growing up, developing, changing and becoming independent. The name B-Fly comes from the word butterfly. It was Miss Laura's choice, she says, "happiness is like a butterfly, if you chase it, it never comes, but if you get on with life, be good and kind happiness will settle beside you!" Very true words Miss Laura! The girls really will amaze and we are sure they will go far!

DRUM INVASION from STARBRITE DANCENTRE



Another talented group courtesy of Starbrite Dancentre! Drum Invasion will get the crowd jumping! The routine was choreographed by Miss Emma Bailey-Hague, the principal and creative director of Starbrite Dancentre. The students range in age from Abi and Jasmine who are 9, to Summer who is 16. Fun and energetic, the students really love this routine and cannot wait to perform in the Ainsty's Got Talent Contest on the 24th May. The team really will entertain and we are sure they will go far!

ASTRID-GWYNEDD from BROUGH



Megan Revell is just 16years old and is performing under her stage name of Astrid-Gwynedd. Astrid-Gwynedd is a classically trained singer from Brough, near Hull who draws on a bygone era of music. With a real passion for jazz and cabaret music, Astrid-Gwynedd puts her own unique style to more contemporary music, often using the ukulele as her chosen instrument. Astrid-Gwynedd also loves to perform classical music and cannot wait to perform for the Ainsty's Got Talent judges and audience. Nor can we wait to hear her! Another member of Starbrite Dancentre...what talent they produce! Astrid-Gwynedd was the first jazzulele musician to be discovered on the web...well done! This is certainly not an act to be missed...a definite star of the future, we welcome Astrid-Gwynedd to the Ainsty's Got Talent Contest!

WHAT A SHOW WE HAVE LINED UP, CERNTAINLY NOT TO BE MISSED! SEE YOU THERE FROM 7PM!

WELL DONE TO LUCY McCLEANs POP CHOIR, WHO WON THE HEAT 4 CONTEST AND GO THROUGH TO THE FINAL! LUCY & HER POP CHOIR WERE A MUCH DESERVED WINNERs, WITH THEIR AMAZING VOCALS & ENTERTAINING SET! SEE YOUTUBE OR HERE FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE' Not only does the winner of the final win £500 and the opportunity to perform at the Ainsty Fest on the 3rd August, but will also perform just before the headline act in the Apollo Festival on the 29th June...exciting!!!



ALSO A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO JACK HILL, THE SAUSAGE SNAFFLER WHO CAME RUNNER-UP. JACK WILL JOIN SAM HIRD, STARBRITE's GIRLS and LUCY & JO IN 'WENDI'S WILD CARD' HEAT ON SATURDAY THE 15TH JUNE, WITH ANOTHER CHANCE TO SECURE A PLACE IN THE FINAL! Good luck Jack! xxx
